Service Overview

Glass Polishing & Restoration —
The Brief, In Plain English.

What It Is

Specialist mechanical and chemical polishing of damaged glass. We remove light-to-moderate scratches, hard water stains, limescale, mineral deposits, graffiti scoring and acid etching from a wide range of glazed surfaces — commercial glazing, hotel windows, shopfronts, office partitions, balustrades and residential glazing.

Who It's For

Hotels, commercial property managers, construction companies, facilities management providers, retail stores and shopping centres, schools, universities, healthcare providers, and residential homeowners with damaged windows, shower screens or balustrades.

When You Need It

As soon as damage is noticed — post-construction snagging, after tenant fit-outs, following window-cleaning failures that have left hard water etching, or when graffiti and vandalism damage appears. Early polishing prevents defects sinking deeper into the glass surface.

Why It Matters

Replacing damaged glass is expensive, slow and disruptive — especially for large commercial units, sealed IGUs and toughened panels with long lead times. Specialist polishing restores appearance and clarity in a single visit while maintaining the integrity of the glass.

What Happens If You Wait

The Cost Of
Replacing Instead.

Damaged glass rarely improves on its own. Water minerals etch further into the surface, scratches trap dirt, and once a scored panel is inside its snag window the developer or client expects it put right — fast.

Risks Of Leaving It

  • Hard water and limescale etch permanently into the glass if left untreated.
  • New-build glazing scratches picked up during construction miss the snag window and become the client's problem.
  • Shopfront and hotel glazing damage undermines the brand's frontage.
  • Full pane replacement drags in scaffold, sealant work and long lead times on toughened or laminated units.

Common Mistakes Customers Make

  • ×Attempting scratch removal with domestic abrasives — creates a distorted, cloudy patch worse than the original scratch.
  • ×Using acidic limescale removers on glass with mineral coatings — strips the coating and etches the glass.
  • ×Delaying repair until the mineral damage sinks below polishable depth.

Questions

Straight
Answers.

Cost, timeline, guarantees, lifespan — the questions everyone asks, answered before you call.

Ask Yours

Which glass types can you polish?

+

Float, toughened, laminated and most standard commercial and residential glazing. We assess coated glass (self-clean, low-E, mirrored) on a case-by-case basis because polishing can affect the coating.

How deep a scratch can you remove?

+

Light to moderate scratches — anything you can't catch a fingernail deep in is normally polishable. Deeper gouges may polish out but can leave a slight optical distortion; we're straight with you at the quote stage.

Can you remove hard water and limescale staining?

+

Yes. Long-standing hard water etching, limescale build-up and mineral deposits on shower screens, hotel bathrooms and external glazing are one of our core jobs.

Do you cover England nationwide?

+

Yes. We're based in Greater Manchester and cover Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Bristol, London, Newcastle, York and across England. Depending on scope, we travel nationwide for larger commercial and multi-site projects.

Will the polished area be visible against the surrounding glass?

+

Done correctly, no. We polish and blend into the surrounding surface to preserve optical clarity across the full pane. Very deep damage can leave slight distortion — always flagged upfront.

Is polishing cheaper than replacing the pane?

+

Almost always. Polishing avoids the cost of the new pane, scaffold access, sealant renewal and downtime — particularly on large commercial units, sealed IGUs and toughened panels with long lead times.
